Is it really different from other online dating agencies?

Review of the Matchmaker .com online dating agency. With the busy lifestyles most of us lead, online dating has become more popular than ever. It will never replace meeting someone in person, but with online dating agencies, it’s possible to meet someone and get to know them before you make the step to actually go out on a date. When my fiancé was fatally injured in a car accident it took me almost a year before I was even ready to begin dating again. I had been with him for so many years that I didn’t have an idea where to begin. With my busy schedule, I didn’t have the time to all the places singles usually meet.

I wasn’t sure if it was the right route to take, but I chose to look into online dating agencies and hope I could find someone who didn’t live too far away from my home. Matchmaker .com was one of the first dating agencies that I located. It is free to sign up, post a profile, and show interest in someone, so it certainly seemed like a good idea.

In fact, if you show interest in someone, they can even email you with a free membership—only if you want to have the ability to email others and enter into chats do you need to upgrade to a premium membership. I figured I couldn’t lose with a free membership, and if someone really caught my attention, I would upgrade my membership.

During the first thirty days I was a member of this dating agency, I must have received over 100 emails from different men ho were emailing me directly or had seen that I was interested. Unfortunately some of them lived too far from my home for me to develop any more than an online friendship, but I did find about three interesting men who lived within 25 miles of my home.

I was not interested in a steady relationship at first because the memories of my fiancé’s death were still quite vivid, but as I spent more time dating and less time moping around the house, it was easier to develop a relationship.

It took several months for me to decide the type of relationship I wanted and to take the steps to develop that relationship into something solid. I would never have believed an online dating agency could help me find someone who could heal the wounds of the past, but Matchmaker did just that. It certainly doesn’t mean that everyone is going to find someone as quickly as I did or that you are going to meet as many different men as I did, but there is definitely someone there with whom you can communicate.

How quickly you are able to find the right person for you depends upon what your expectations are and the kind of relationship you seek. I was not looking for a relationship actually—I just wanted someone who could help me pass some of my boring days. I’m a simple person, so finding someone who preferred to have quiet dinners at home was exactly what I needed.
